Message to Pride: Reject New Seasons

After careful consideration, we are calling on the Seattle Pride Committee to remove New Seasons Market as a sponsor. New Seasons’ ownership is linked to anti-LGBTQ groups behind anti-transgender initiatives, gay conversion therapy, and the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing a business to discriminate against gay customers.

We stand with New Seasons’ LGBTQ employees whose hard work unintentionally benefits The Murdock Trust, a part owner of New Seasons and a major funder of anti-LGBTQ groups and other institutions. Many in Washington and Oregon have called on New Seasons to cut ties with the Murdock Trust, but all we’ve heard are excuses. We should not allow any corporation to use Seattle Pride to market products while its profits benefit groups that discriminate against its own LGBTQ employees, customers, and members of Seattle’s community.”
